One week to go...

In one week our shop closes. I wanted to share a little of this time with you before I move entirely forward with this blog. "One Day At a Time" is certainly something I need to focus on right now. My little one just started pre-school and as exciting as that is (wonderful school and even more wonderful teacher), I also feel like my heart has been ripped from my chest and the world is walking all over it. My bigger little one starts middle school in 2 days. I am that sappy, nostalgic person that can be so that she is irritating... I am even more memory-clingy and emotional as a mother. This is a huge time for my girls and for me. I am thrilled and excited and I am also a complete wreck! In addition to these life changes... I have to push forward with the closing down of Lorken Food Finery. We are running the whole shop at "buy 1 get 1 1/2 off" with a few extras at up to 60% off and have blown through a lot of inventory as well as most of our shelving. We are at a bit of a standstill right now as we argue/barter with the landlord over the space we are in. This only adds to the emotional roller coaster our family is on. I wanted to share some photos of my sweet little shop before it is empty, closed and belongs to another. I promise this blog will not be a gooey mess of posts about my private life but I do want to share a little before I really dive in. One week to go and we close the doors of the gourmet shop and open those of a gourmet blog :)

  5. Lorken was such a great store in every way! You always felt welcome, could count on finding new things to add to your kitchen and a great conversation where you would learn something about cooking as well as life. Thank you for being apart of my life over the last year. You will rise above this because you have what's important figured out. Hang in there.
