Happy Halloween!
Fall has got to be my most favorite season and time of year. I love the crisp air (except it snowed all night here in Utah)and the changing leaves, I love sweaters and boots, I love blankets and Fall decorations... it's such a gorgeous season! I also love Halloween. Not the scary and dark side... the pumpkin/jack-o-lantern, cute kid costume side. For a fun Halloween treat, make this ice cream and cuddle up under some warm fluffy blankets to enjoy it. It is especially delicious with crumbled graham crackers sprinkled all over the top of each individual serving.
PUMPKIN ICE CREAM
1 1/2 C pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
1/2 maple syrup
1 C cream
1 C half and half
1 t cinnamon
1 t pumpkin pie spice
1/2 t nutmeg
1/4 t ginger
Combine all ingredients and whisk together until completely mixed and frothy. Freeze according to your ice cream maker manufacturer instructions. Keep up to 2 weeks in the freezer.

This does sound perfect for fall or winter (if I look outside). I might have to drizzle it with some hot fudge too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I just posted about how I've been attached to ice cream lately and needed to get off the juice! Then you had to post about this beautiful recipe. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog, but so far, I love the recipes!!!
I love, love, love pumpkin. And...we are the biggest consumer of ice cream in the U.S. per capita. So what if it winter and blustery. A tree fell on two of our cars during the night so I really need some ice cream about now.
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween, too and this ice cream looks like the perfect way to celebrate. I might try a scoop of this in a mug of hot apple cider.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when I lived in Oklahoma every fall I used to get Pumpkin Frozen Custard at my favorite Frozen Custard Shop. I can taste it now :)
ReplyDeleteI love pumpkin ice cream! I love the maple syrup in your recipe!
ReplyDeleteThe idea of maple syrup in it makes it sound extra yum. Hot fudge for me too, please!
ReplyDeletePumpkin ice cream is always so delicious. I love that idea of sprinkling it with graham crackers.
